Northwestern High School running back Turbo Richard signs with ACC’s Boston College
Family, friends, teammates and coaches all cheered as Turbo Richard signed his national letter of intent with Boston College on Wednesday morning at Northwestern High School.
It’s the continuation of what has been a successful career for the 5-foot-8 running back.
He leaves Northwestern as its single-season and career rushing record holder, accumulating more than 5,000 yards and 50 touchdowns from scrimmage in three seasons.
“It all started at a young age when I started working out and started training and doing all the things necessary to get to where I’m at now,” Richard said. “It all paid off, and I got to thank my parents for sacrificing for me.”
Richard joins a long lineage of Northwestern Power Five commits, most recently Jordan Knox (Northwestern) and Elijah Caldwell (South Carolina).
He said that growing network has supplied him with tips and knowledge about how to succeed at the next level.
“Just staying in the weight room, studying film, learning the playbook, too,” Richard said. “It’s going to be a faster game than it is in high school because everybody around me is good. I just have to prepare on another level that they’re not.”
Richard said he plans to enroll in the summer and wants to major in something related to science.
