Fort Mill football rewarded for first win in Tri-County players of the week voting

Offensive player of the week: Sebastian Lach, Fort Mill - senior running back helped Fort Mill gets its first win of 2018 with a monster 211 yards rushing and four touchdowns against Lugoff-Elgin.

Defensive player: Jacob Kendall, Fort Mill - senior linebacker notched 12 tackles (seven solo efforts) against Lugoff-Elgin.

Offensive lineman: James Hyland, Fort Mill - Hyland graded out 94 percent with a pancake block during the Yellow Jackets’ win over Lugoff-Elgin.

Defensive lineman: Isaiah Farmer, Clover - Farmer had a big game against Ashbrook, making seven tackles, with two for a loss, recording two sacks and forcing a fumble.

Special teams: Quinton Jackson, Nation Ford - Jackson had a 40-yard punt return for a touchdown during the Falcons’ win over Indian Land.

1A, 2A, 3A, 4A schools

Offensive player of the week: Joe Ervin, South Pointe - senior committed to Coastal Carolina carried the ball 27 times for 192 yards during the Stallions’ narrow win over Greenville.

Defensive player: Octaveion Minter, Chester - sophomore linebacker made 17 tackles against Lancaster, with two for a loss, a QB sack and five QB pressures.

Offensive linemen: Tyrone Jackson, South Pointe - Jackson graded 91 percent with six big-time blocks and a pancake against Greenville.

Defensive lineman: Adam Foxx, South Pointe - senior defensive lineman made seven tackles and a QB sack against Greenville.

Special teams: Zion Mills, Chester - senior returned a kickoff 65 yards for a touchdown against Lancaster.
