Xavien “Foxx” Moore of Great Falls is The Herald’s Football Player of the Week.

The Red Devil senior showed his versatility with 170 yards of total offense and two touchdowns in a 24-18 overtime victory over Hickory on Oct. 22. Moore rarely came off the field: He had 11 rushes for 116 yards and a touchdown, as well as four catches for 54 yards and another score on offense. He also added six tackles and a pass breakup on defense.

Great Falls is 6-3 this season and has already punched its ticket to the 1A state playoffs, which begin next week.

There were 12,123 votes cast in this week’s poll. Moore earned 54% of the vote; Charles Green of Legion Collegiate earned 31.5% of the vote; and Kohen Kozel of Catawba Ridge earned 7.9% of the vote.

Meet this week’s finalists

RJ Glasgow, York defensive back. The senior defensive back had four tackles, two pass breakups and two interceptions — returning one of his picks for a 35-yard touchdown — to help York to a 34-6 win over Lancaster on Oct. 22. Glasgow (6-foot, 185 pounds) has 41 tackles and six interceptions for a York team (7-1) that has won seven straight games after a three-point, season-opening loss at Cox Mill.

Charles Green, Legion Collegiate wide receiver. The 6-foot-3, 190-pound senior had a big impact on both sides of the ball as Legion Collegiate won its second straight game — a 24-21 victory at Landrum on Oct. 22. Green had 14 tackles and one quarterback pressure on defense and added five catches for 78 yards and a touchdown on offense. Legion Collegiate is 2-4 this season.

Kohen Kozel, Catawba Ridge kicker. The clutch kicker hit the game-winning field goal from 31 yards out to give Catawba Ridge a 16-13 overtime win over Indian Land on Oct. 22. Kozel (5-foot-11, 170 pounds) went 3-for-4 on field goals in the game — connecting from 22, 26 and 31 yards — and added an extra point to make him responsible for 10 of his team’s 16 points on the night. Catawba Ridge is 5-4 this season.
