Coroner identifies woman found in Fort Mill apartment swimming pool

The coroner has identified the woman found unresponsive Saturday night in a Fort Mill swimming pool.

Soraya Kudiabor, 55, was found in the pool and died at the scene, said Sabrina Gast, York County Coroner. Foul play is not suspected, Gast said.

An autopsy and toxicology tests are pending, Gast said.

The incident happened around 6:30 p.m. at the pool at the Peachtree Place apartments, said Maj. Bryan Zachary of the Fort Mill Police Department. Fort Mill police and Piedmont Medical Center EMS, and the York County Coroner’s Office responded, Zachary said.

The apartments are south of S.C. 160 off Munn Road, west of U.S. 21 and east of Interstate 77.

The death remains under investigation by the Fort Mill police and coroner’s office.
