19-year-old charged with murder after York County SC shooting near Lake Wylie

A 19-year-old Clover man has been arrested after an overnight fatal shooting west of Lake Wylie, deputies said Saturday.

Noah Immanuel Walter is charged with murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime, according to the York County Sheriff’s Office and jail records.

The victim’s name has not been released by the York County Coroner.

The man died after the shooting in the Paddlers Cove subdivision, said Trent Faris, spokesman for the sheriff’s office. No other information about the motive for the shooting or any relationship between the suspect and victim has been released.

The residential area is west of S.C. 274/49 and the lake that is part of the border between Charlotte and South Carolina.

In social media posts Saturday, deputies asked anyone with video or surveillance cameras in the area to contact investigators at 803-628-3172.

Walter remains jailed without bail at the York County Detention Center.
