Ready to sample York County’s best craft breweries? There are more options than ever
Folks who want to sip their ways through York County have more places to try, and a new reason to try them.
The YoCo Brew Trail is back for a third year. And you can start now.
There are now a dozen sites, with the addition of Replay Brewing in Kingsley. The list will expand with the planned openings of Middle James Brewing, Print Shop by Amor Artis and Off the Tracks Brewing in Rock Hill.
YoCo Brew Trail is a concoction of Visit York County to combine a burgeoning brewery scene in the area with tourism. It began prior to the COVID-19 pandemic that hurt visits to area gathering spots. Success of YoCo Brew Trail spawned a similar version for restaurants, the YoCo Taste Trail.
“York County’s flourishing craft brewery scene is an economic force for the local tourism economy,” Visit York County interim president and CEO Andy Clinton said in an announcement for the new brew trail. “We are excited to continue to support our hospitality partners through initiatives like the YoCo Brew Trail that generate visitor spending and add to the culture of our community.”
Slow Play Brewing co-owner and founder Ben Lee said it’s exciting to see craft beer community growth in the area.
“Tourism is a critical component of our business and initiatives like the YoCo Brew Trail that bring new customers through our doors directly impacts our ability to be successful,” Lee said.
Participants this year include Amor Artis Brewing Lake Wylie Brewing, Replay Brewing and 1873 Brewing in Fort Mill, Model A Brewing in Tega Cay and a slew of Rock Hill sites in Carolina Brew Supply, Dust Off Brewing, Lake Wylie Brewing, Legal Remedy Brewing, Legal Remedy Brewing Riverwalk, Rock Hill Brewing and Slow Play Brewing.
The trail will operate a little differently this year. Previously it was app-based. This time, guests can pick up a YoCo Brew Trail passport at any participating brewery. Visit at least 10 locations and collect passport stamps from them, and guests can claim a free custom YoCo Brew Trail pint glass from either the York County Visitor’s Center in Rock Hill or Anne Springs Close Greenway Canteen in Fort Mill.
