Three Rock Hill region homes sold for more than $2M. Here’s what else sold big

A new restaurant site, hotel and apartments recently sold for more than $1 million each across the Rock Hill region. But the most seven-figure sales continue to come from the housing market.

The three-county area had 25 homes sell in July for $1 million or more, including three homes that topped $2 million. There were only eight sales of properties other than homes in the million-dollar price range, according to county land records.

An Indian Land home on Seminole Drive led the way, selling for $2.6 million. The eight-bedroom Firethorne house backing up to a golf course came with a pool, theater and wine cellar, according to online sale listings.

A 22-room Lake Wylie home west of Pole Branch Road sold for $2.5 million. And a River Hills home, just off the main channel of Lake Wylie, sold for $2.1 million.

Commercial million-dollar market

Not all million-dollar sales in July were homes. Here’s a look at the other:

  • Shiv Hospitality out of Richmond, Virginia, bought the Courtyard Rock Hill hotel on July 11 for $7.9 million. The three-story, 50,000-square-foot hotel at 1300 River Run Ct. was built in 2000. It sits on nearly 3 acres west of Interstate 77, near Celanese Road and Riverchase Boulevard.
  • Lancaster supplement company Nutramax bought two properties on Quality Drive near its facility on July 18 for $4.3 million. The sites combine for 15 acres. The 950 Quality Drive property includes a more than 47,000-square-foot industrial facility built in 1999. Turnils North America, a window parts maker, previously owned it.
  • Cherry Laurel Acquisitions out of Columbia bought three apartment properties near downtown Rock Hill on July 17 for $4.2 million. The sites off Cherry Laurel Lane and Blue Ash Court combine for nearly 5 acres. There are nearly 60 addresses listed on those properties, with almost all of them apartments.
  • Charleston-based RAM Investments bought the former O’Charleys restaurant on Dave Lyle Boulevard in Rock Hill. The July 3 sale for $3 million includes a 6,800-square-foot restaurant built in 1998 near the Galleria Mall. The Charlotte Observer reported a Whataburger restaurant is coming to the site.
  • California-based FCPT Holdings bought the Novant Health Urgent Care site on Cherry Road in Rock Hill for $2.4 million. The July 30 sale from Radar Doctors LLC to FCPT Holdings includes the 2164 and 2174 Cherry Road addresses, and the 5,700-square-foot medical office built in 2011.
  • Legacy Pointe Indian Land, based in Cornelius, North Carolina, bought two properties off Charlotte Highway in Indian Land for $2.4 million. The 10 combined acres are just north of Dobys Bridge Road, across U.S. 521 from The Arches retail development.
  • Fort Mill-based 5S Development bought two properties that combine for nearly 5 acres on Carowinds Boulevard and Pleasant Road, just across from the main exit at the Carowinds amusement park. The $2.3 million sale on July 8 includes a 7,500-square-foot warehouse at 4283 Pleasant Road, built in 1983.
