Carowinds to hire 4,000 workers. One event is planned to help do it.
Carowinds is looking to hire more than 4,000 people for its 2020 season. This season will offer new attractions.
Carowinds, on the South Carolina-North Carolina border between Fort Mill and Charlotte, opens March 21.
The theme park is hosting a job fair from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Feb. 8 to fill positions in admissions, food and beverage, security, games, merchandise, park services, aquatics and ride operations, a release states.
Applicants must be 16 years old or older. Applications are available at carowinds.jobs or at the employment office from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Sunday.
Job fair attendees should enter through the park’s main entrance. For questions, call 704-587-9006 or email jobs@carowinds.com.
Carowinds’ 2020 season will feature new rides and events.
From March 21 to April 19, park guests can experience monster trucks up close during the new Monster Jam Thunder Alley experience, according to Carowinds. The event is included in park admission.
Season pass holders are invited to Carowinds for a preview night on March 20.
The park will be open full time during spring break, April 6-19.
The water park Carolina Harbor opens in mid-May and will debut the new Boogie Board Racer. It’s the “longest mat racer in the Southeast,” according to Carowinds.
“Racers will zoom through tubes, high-speed chutes and a thrilling 360-degree loop. A final drop brings them to maximum acceleration before they reach the finish lane to splashdown,” states a release from Carowinds sent in August.
From June 13 to July 5, guests can attend Grand Carnivale, a nighttime international festival and party that includes a parade.
“The Spectacle of Color full-scale parade is a highlight of the festival, with extravagantly decorated and brightly lit floats, and lavishly costumed street performers who will draw guests into the action, tossing beads as they travel through the park to the beat of lively music,” states the August release.
Carowinds also hosts a fireworks show July 4. In the fall, the theme park is transformed for SCarowinds and the Great Pumpkin Fest.
During the holiday season, Carowinds hosts WinterFest, featuring the Winterfest Wonderland Parade, and a New Year’s Eve celebration.
