Rock Hill development plans include office, retail, new homes. Here’s where.
The Carolina Panthers aren’t the only ones with plans to grow Rock Hill.
The same May 5 city planning commission meeting where the pro football team seeks approval for its headquarters and practice site also has homes and commercial redevelopment.
Here’s a look at what they city has on its plate:
▪ TKC The Thread LLC has almost nine acres up for rezoning at 220 W. White St. in downtown. The Thread is a planned combination of restaurant, retail, office and commercial uses.
Springs Creative operates on the property. Two phases of development would involve reuse of the existing building, a parking deck and urban park. Submitted plans show a building up to 90 feet high, with up to 325,000 square feet of office space. More than 20,000 square feet each of retail and food service space are included.
The item is up for public hearing May 5.
▪ Bainbridge Group applied to rezone almost 63 acres on Miller Pond Road for a residential subdivision. The properties also are planned for annexation into Rock Hill. Surrounding the site are the Miller Pond, Woodbridge and Country Oaks subdivisions.
The new subdivision would have 67 lots. Plans show entrances from the north and south, with four cul-de-sacs. The plan has its public hearing May 5.
▪ The third phase at Riverwalk is back on the agenda for plat review. The same item appeared last month. The plan involves 159 lots on 65 acres. Primary access would be off Riverwalk Parkway.
▪ A public hearing for five acres on Wilkerson Road will be deferred to an upcoming planning commission meeting. Plans for four parcels off Eden Terrace, across I-77 from the Panthers property, involve rezoning business property to industrial. The applicant asked for the deferal.
