A Lancaster County lottery ticket won big. Again. It’s been a winning few weeks.

A tumultuous 2020 doesn’t seem to have impacted one area demographic — Lancaster County lottery players.

The South Carolina Education Lottery announced another big win in Lancaster County on Wednesday. A Lancaster couple who chose not to be named bought a ticket on their way out to eat, scratching it off at the table to win $125,000.

The couple told lottery officials they couldn’t eat after all the excitement so they canceled the order, after the wife jumped from the table. The $125,000 win was a 1 in 750,000 chance. Three top prizes remain in the $5 Extra Play game.

Scotchman No. 3892 in Lancaster claims its own win, a $1,250 commission for selling the winning ticket.

The big win comes just weeks after newleyweds won $250,000 off a $2 ticket sold at Jack’s Convenience Store in Lancaster. Also, an Aug. 25 ticket sold at S&S Food Mart in Lancaster won $75,000.

Lancaster County lottery wins are not new. Last year an Indian Land store sold a $2 million Powerball ticket. A Lancaster store sold a $150,000 winner. Another Lancaster store sold a winning ticket worth $250,000.

In January another Indian Land Powerball ticket won someone $50,000.

The lottery lists winners of $500 or more statewide online, dating back three months. In that time there have been 78 such winners in Lancaster County. Wins range from $540 to $250,000.

Those Lancaster County wins combine for $612,323.
