Someone’s pot of gold came a day early, as a Rock Hill Powerball ticket just won someone $1 million.

The ticket purchased at the Quick Stop gas station at 275 S. Charlotte Ave. matched all five white numbers drawn Saturday night, the day before St. Patrick’s Day. The odds of that happening are nearly 1 in 11.7 million.

The winner has 180 days to claim the million-dollar prize.

The winning numbers for Saturday night’s drawing were 12, 23, 44, 57 and 61. The Powerball number was 5. It takes a match of every white number and the Powerball to win the overall jackpot.

The estimated top prize for Monday night’s drawing is $645 million.

More than 25,000 players statewide won prizes from $4 to $1 million in Saturday’s drawing, according to the South Carolina Education Lottery.

The lottery win comes just days after another Rock Hill lottery ticket won someone $240,000 in the new Palmetto Cash 5 game.
