Rock Hill motorcyclist, 84, dies in 6th York County cycle fatality in 3 months
An 84-year-old Rock Hill motorcyclist has been killed in the sixth cycle crash in York County in the past three months, officials said.
Peter McLean died after the 1981 Honda motorcycle he was driving collided Wednesday with a 2020 Chrysler van, according to the S.C. Highway Patrol and York County Coroner Sabrina Gast.
The collision happened after 11 a.m. on Mount Gallant Road near Homestead Road, said Master Trooper Hannah Davidson. The area is near the southern shore of Lake Wylie close to the Rock Hill city limits.
The fatality remains under investigation.
In July and August, five people died in York County motorcycle collisions in Rock Hill, Fort Mill, and western York County, according to police records.
