Chester teen killed, brother hurt in single-car crash, police, coroner say

A Chester teen was killed and his brother was hurt in a crash Saturday in Chester County, officials said.

The teen who died, Da’Quinnzo O’Brian Dubose, 16, was a passenger in a car driven by his older brother, said Terry Tinker, Chester County Coroner.

The older brother was airlifted to a hospital in Charlotte after the crash, Tinker said. His condition has not been released.

The single-vehicle collision happened Saturday around 12:30 p.m. on Armory Road north of Chester, said Master Trooper Gary Miller of the S.C. Highway Patrol.

The 2002 Honda sedan involved went off the right side of the road, then off the left side, Miller said. The car overturned after it hit a tree, Miller said.

Miller said the driver who was injured is 18 years old.

The wreck remains under investigation by the S.C. Department of Public Safety and the coroner’s office.

There were three fatal crashes in York and Chester County from Friday through Sunday, troopers and sheriff’s officials said.
