Rock Hill woman pistol-whipped, boyfriend sought, police say

A Rock Hill woman was injured late Tuesday when she was pistol-whipped by her boyfriend in a domestic dispute, police said.

The suspect has been identified as Dontrell Oshea Evans, 25, said Lt. Michael Chavis of the Rock Hill Police Department. Police have an arrest warrant for Evans charging him with attempted murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime, Chavis said.

Evans fled the scene on Kevin Lane before police arrived and has not been caught, Chavis said Wednesday morning.

“Our department (is) working to bring him into custody as soon as possible,” Chavis said.

The victim, 24, has not been identified by authorities. She was found by police at Piedmont Medical Center hospital, Chavis said. The extent of her injuries has not been released, Chavis said.

The suspect is believed to have hit the victim in the head with a pistol around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, Chavis said. The gun went off during the beating, Chavis said. The bullet did not hit the victim, Chavis said.

Officers responded to the apartment, Chavis said.
