Woman beaten, shot in Chester County. Suspect ‘armed and dangerous’, sheriff says
A woman was shot Sunday in Chester County after being beaten, deputies said.
The woman was riding in a car on Second Street in Chester when she was shot from outside the car, said Max Dorsey, Chester County Sheriff.
Detectives determined that the woman had been beaten in the face before she was shot, Dorsey said.
The woman was treated at a hospital for injuries that do not appear to be life-threatening, Dorsey said.
Detectives found shell casings from a semi-automatic handgun at the crime scene, Dorsey said.
Deputies have arrest warrants for Vangereil Detreckes Miller on charges of attempted murder and possession of a gun during a violent crime, Dorsey said.
Miller has not been located, deputies said. He should be considered armed and dangerous, Dorsey said. The sheriff’s office also issued a public notice about Miller on the sheriff’s office Facebook page.
