Man charged, woman sought in case of $40K in Chester thefts, sheriff says
A man has been charged and a woman is sought in connection with a string of thefts in Chester County where more than $40,000 in goods were stolen, deputies said.
Tanner Lee Harris, 25, faces 41 counts in charges that he stole three cars, four guns, credit cards and other items in different areas dating back to late January, Chester County Sheriff Max Dorsey said.
Harris is accused of conspiracy with Brandy Lee Ann Ferrell, 31. Deputies have arrest warrants charging Ferrell with conspiracy in many of the break-ins but she has not yet been located, Dorsey said.
Dorsey called the multiple thefts a “crime spree.”
Harris was arrested last week in York County, then brought back to Chester, deputies said. Harris briefly escaped while assisting those detectives in locating some of the stolen property.
He also faces an escape charge, according to South Carolina court documents.
Ferrell was out on a $2,500 bond after a forgery arrest when detectives charged her in the crime spree, court records show.
