2 teens wounded, buildings, vehicles damaged in Rock Hill shooting, police say

Two Rock Hill teens were shot late Monday outside an apartment complex, officials said.

The shootings happened after 11 p.m. outside the Pepper Ridge Apartments off Springsteen Road near Dave Lyle Boulevard, said Lt. Michael Chavis of the Rock Hill Police Department.

The male victims, both age 17, were found by police at Piedmont Medical Center, Chavis said. Their injuries are not expected to be life-threatening, Chavis said.

The identities of the victims have not been released.

Officers responded to the area near the apartments after multiple calls of shots fired in the area, according to police and emergency officials.

Forensic units, detectives and patrol officers found several live ammunition bullets in front of building 1907 at the apartments, Chavis said. Shell casings from bullets that had been fired also were found, Chavis said.

Investigators also found several of the buildings and vehicles nearby had been damaged by gunfire, Chavis said.

No arrests have been made, Chavis said.
