Clerk robbed at gunpoint at York County store near I-77; deputies seek suspects
A York County convenience store clerk was robbed at gunpoint late Tuesday, officials said.
Two suspects robbed the Adams Mart on Gold Hill Road just west of Interstate 77 before 10 p.m., said Trent Faris, spokesman for the York County Sheriff’s Office. No shots were fired and the clerk was not hurt, Faris said.
It is unclear if any customers were in the store when it was robbed.
The area is north of the town of Fort Mill and south of the North Carolina state line.
One of the suspects pointed a gun at the clerk and demanded the clerk empty the register, according to a sheriff’s office incident report. The thieves took the money and fled toward nearby apartments, according to the report.
Sheriff’s office patrol forensics, crime scene, detectives, and K-9 responded.
Deputies were able to obtain surveillance video from the robbery. No arrests have been made.
