Deputies have arrested a second man in connection with a violent daytime home invasion in Clover last month.

Jarnelle Ladarius Ervin, 21, of Charlotte was charged with first-degree burglary, armed robbery, criminal conspiracy, possession of a weapon during a violent crime and four counts of kidnapping, according to jail records. He remained in the Moss Justice Center without bond Thursday.

York County sheriff’s investigators say Ervin was one of three armed men who broke into a home on Birchwood Drive in Clover the afternoon of July 11.

The three armed suspects reportedly assaulted a 17-year-old victim and tied up a woman, her husband and her husband’s co-worker inside the home. The husband was hit in the head multiple times with a gun.

The four victims eventually escaped the home and called 911 at a neighbor’s house, deputies say.

Jermaine Lowery, 23, also of Charlotte, was arrested July 26 on similar charges and remains jailed without bond. The third suspect has not been arrested.
