A school custodian accused of sexually abusing an elementary school student was fired, Texas officials said.

Eric Lazaro Landaverde, 64, was charged with continuous sexual abuse of a child, the Little Elm Police Department said in a May 28 news release.

A parent reported the inappropriate contact to Little Elm Independent School District on May 22, and the custodian was fired, the district said in a statement.

School officials said the report accused Landaverde of inappropriate contact with three students during the last week of school.

Landaverde was arrested on May 28, police said.

Little Elm is about a 30-mile drive north from Dallas.
