Pickup truck crashes into turning SUV, killing driver, SC Highway Patrol says
One person died days after a pickup truck and SUV crashed, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
The two-vehicle collision happened April 22 in Laurens County, but the death wasn’t reported until Tuesday, said Master Trooper Brandon Bolt.
At about 2:20 p.m. Saturday, a 2015 Chevrolet pickup was driving east on Green Pond Road when it hit a westbound 2010 Lexus SUV that was making a turn into a private driveway, according to Bolt.
The drivers were the only occupants in the vehicles, and both were taken to an area hospital, Bolt said. That’s where the SUV driver later died, according to Bolt.
The Laurens County Coroner’s Office has not publicly identified the SUV driver.
Further information on the condition of the Chevy driver was not available.
No other injuries were reported.
There was no word if anyone involved in the crash was wearing a seat belt, but the wreck continues to be investigated by the Highway Patrol.
