Tropical Storm Debby
Tropical Storm Debby made landfall in the U.S. on Monday, and will move north toward the Columbia area of South Carolina, where a flood watch has been issued, according to the National Weather Service.

Well that didn’t take long.
Tropical Storm Debby began flooding parts of Charleston soon after it moved into the state Monday evening. According to the National Weather Service forecasts, the slow-moving storm is predicted to drop heavy amounts of rain on the coast and the Midlands through at least Wednesday. The rain is expected to cause widespread flooding around the state.

Brandon Clement, an independent photojournalist and storm chaser, posted this video to his WxChasing account on X (formerly Twitter), of flooding in Charleston this morning.
Charleston resident Brenda J. Peart posted this video to her Instagram of flooding starting just after midnight at the intersection of King and Huger Street. She noted that flooding so far wasn’t nearly as bad compared to flooding from Hurricane Matthew in 2016.
TikTok user Avery Peddicord of New Jersey unfortunately decided to visit Charleston this week and noted in a post below her video that the inn she was staying at was flooded.
Conley Grayson, weekend anchor and news reporter for ABC 4 News in Charleston, posted this video of flooding at City Market in downtown Charleston early Tuesday morning.
