Man killed in shooting where two other people were hurt, SC police say
Three people were injured in a shooting in South Carolina Tuesday night, and one of them died, according to the Columbia Police Department.
The Richland County Coroner’s Office said that 44-year-old Timothy Jacobs died at a local hospital, according to police.
At about 9 p.m., officers responded to a report of a shooting in the 2500 block of Booker Street, police said. That’s near the intersection with Farrow Road, and close to the Prisma Health Richland hospital complex.
Three people with injuries were taken to a hospital, according to police. Further information on the conditions of the surviving victims was not available, but police said one has been released from the hospital.
There was no word about a shooter or shooters, or anyone else involved in the gunfire. Information about a possible motive for the shooting was not available, but investigators were at the scene Tuesday night to find out what led to the gunfire, police said.
No arrests have been reported, but the shooting continues to be investigated by police.
