It was busy year in Charlotte; from stories that captured the attention of an entire community to ones so eloquently told that it forced us to keep reading to find out what happened and why. These stories were the ones that stuck with us in 2023.

Returning for its second season in 2023, “Sports Legends of the Carolinas” kicked off the year with Carolina Panthers legend and current FOX Sports analyst Greg Olsen, who took Scott Fowler through his time in Bank of America Stadium to the booth of Super Bowl LVII.
NASCAR icon Jeff Gordon, Duke basketball coach Mike Krzyzewski, Golden State Warriors point guards Steph Curry and Chris Paul and University of South Carolina football coach Steve Spurrier sat down with Fowler to discuss their roles in the annals of Carolina sports history.
The podcast completed its second season in November and both seasons were released as a book this December at SportsLegendsBook.com.
Highlight episode: Steve Spurrier took Scott Fowler through a career in football in the season two finale of “Sports Legends”.
Processing Blue: A Carolina Panthers Podcast
Re-branded from “Panthers Tracks,” the “Processing Blue” podcast has taken the Observer audience through the 2023-24 Carolina Panthers season as in-depth as any outlet. From interviews with Panthers legend Steve Smith to former Super Bowl quarterback Jake Delhomme, Langston Wertz Jr., Mike Kaye, Fowler and Alex Zietlow brought fans into the locker room and into the decision making rooms.
What’s next for the Panthers in 2024? A new coach, a second year for quarterback Bryce Young and enough cap space to change fans’ perspections on what could be a lost season. Whatever beckons, the “Processing Blue” podcast will inform fans and Observer audiences.
