Duck Donuts will open soon in Fort Mill with giveaways, donations to celebrate
The wait for a new Fort Mill donut shop is almost done.
Duck Donuts will open its seventh South Carolina location, its third in the Charlotte area, on Jan. 29. The Fort Mill shop at 801 Brayden Parkway is in the new Brayden Village Shopping Center with Super Chix, Capriotti’s Sandwich Shop and other businesses. It’s between Fort Mill and Tega Cay.
The store opens at 8 a.m. The first and 100th guest on opening day will get a gift basket with merchandise.
The 1,350 square-foot shop has made-to-order donuts along with signature coffee blends, espresso, donut breakfast sandwiches, donut sundaes, frozen drinks and milkshakes.
In a release to announce the opening date, owner Clayton Galindo said what first drew him to Duck Donuts is how customizable they are.
“Picking out the toppings is a lot of fun and we loved being able to watch these delicious donuts being made right before our eyes,” Galindo said. “My family and I are so excited to bring these amazing donuts to our friends and family in Fort Mill.”
Duck Donuts will have outdoor seating. In coming weeks, online ordering and curbside pickup will be available through the company app or website.
Customers at Duck can pick from coatings, toppings and drizzles. A viewing area allows customers to see their donuts made.
The company will donate 5% of grand opening weekend sales to the Humane Society of York County.
Duck is open seven days a week. Hours are 7 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, 7 a.m.-7 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday and 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday. The store will have shorter hours Jan. 31, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The company began in 2007 in Duck and Kitty Hawk, N.C. It’s headquartered in Mechanicsburg, Penn. The company has more than 100 locally-owned shops in 22 states, plus one international location.
