Charlotte man faces DUI after Rock Hill woman killed in head-on crash, officials say

A Charlotte man is charged with felony DUI in the death of a Rock Hill woman in a York County head-on crash on Saturday.

Zachary Martin Olsen, 32, was charged with DUI resulting in death, said Master Trooper Gary Miller of South Carolina Highway Patrol.

Olsen remains in the York County jail Monday without bond.

Felony DUI resulting in death carries up to 25 years in prison for each conviction under state law.

The wreck happened on Marshall Road south of Rock Hill shortly before 2 p.m. Saturday, said highway patrol Trooper Joe Hovis.

Olsen, who was driving a 2010 pickup truck, crossed the center line and hit the other driver’s 2012 Nissan head-on, Hovis said.

Kristin Martin Stinson, 44, of Rock Hill, died at the scene, York County Coroner Sabrina Gast said Tuesday. Stinson was not wearing a seat belt, Hovis said.
